Jim is the General Manager of the Best Western Plus Grosvenor Hotel since 2008 and serves as Chair for the Best Western District VI Co-op, which is responsible for establishing and implementing marketing and advertising initiatives for 300 hotels in California, Nevada and Hawaii.   Jim also serves on the South San Francisco Conference Center’s Authority Board.

In 1998, Mia Garcia moved to South San Francisco from Carson City, Nevada. She started a manufacturing company named, Destino International that provides service and products worldwide; she continues to run it successfully. In 2010, she opened Madame’s Boutique, a South San Francisco downtown accessories storefront. In the same year, she partnered with South City Notary & Tax Service, as a Tax Preparer and Notary Public. She later became a Minister and has performed several wedding ceremonies throughout California.

City Manager for the City of South San Francisco, leading a city work-force of over 900 employees providing a full range of services to businesses, residents and visitors. Previously Mike was Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Baton Rouge, a senior staff member in the United States Senate, Executive Vice President for a publicly traded utility company, an elected member of the Louisiana House of Representatives and a practicing corporate attorney. Mike has a law degree from Louisiana State University, an MBA from University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and completed continuing studies at Harvard University and Stanford University Graduate School of Business in organizational leadership and innovation.

Having grown up on the Peninsula and now raising a family here, Karen has a vested interest in the future of South San Francisco and the rest of the Peninsula.

Sheila has assumed varying operational roles over the years most recently as an Assistant Medical Group Administrator overseeing numerous medical, surgical, and operational departments to provide quality care and service to our members. As a participant of the Chamber Education Committee, she supports creating learning opportunities for our high school students so we can retain talented individuals and create a productive workforce for the local business community.
