Executive Director’s Message
The first of a series of Good Morning South San Francisco took place on Wednesday, February 18th at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Grosvenor Hotel.
More than 50 people showed up to meet, network, and listen to the presentations made by new SSF Fire Chief Gerry Kohlmann, Public Works Director Brian McMinn, and SSFPD Deputy Chief Mike Brosnan. Good Morning South San Francisco is a program that will allow our members to interact directly with City, County, regional officials as well as representatives from local corporations and organizations on issues that affect the SSF business community.
Many of our members indicated that they want to hear more about what’s ahead for the downtown area, transportation, housing, etc. We will be diligently working with the City to provide those opportunities. We already have a full calendar of events ahead of us.
State of the County, on April 24th is an annual event where we partner with other Chambers to provide a forum for our legislators. This year, in addition to the political aspect of State of the County presented by the legislators, attendees will also hear Rosanne Foust, CEO of SAMCEDA who will speak about the economy of our County as well.
On May 27th, Mayor Richard Garbarino, will present our members with the State of the City.
In addition to these events, the Higher Education Scholarship Luncheon has been scheduled for Thursday, April 16th. Make sure to calendar these very important events!
